Lululemon Easy Five Low Rise Wide Leg Pant
A 13-Week Postpartum Honest Review
Size 31, Short Length | Navy | $168 CAD | From a midsize mom who needed something in between
13 weeks postpartum, two kids, lower belly pouch, and a need for pants that aren’t leggings or stiff Levi’s. I loved the City Sleek Wide Leg High Rise and hoped these would be similar — I wasn’t wrong, but there are differences worth knowing.
The price: $168 CAD.
Expensive. I’m still a little torn.
Fit: better than expected.
Despite being “low rise,” these sit more like a mid rise on me which is great news postpartum. The structure gives a nice compression without feeling constricting. I can squat, sit on the floor, and play with my toddler without fighting the fabric. There’s a back gap, which is common on curvy bodies, but the extra weight up front actually helps close it.
Versatility: office and beyond.
Blouse and blazer and you’re work-ready. What surprised me more was feeling slightly overdressed in casual settings it’s winter so park trips aren’t happening right now, but I haven’t fully cracked the dressed-down look yet. On the flip side, the thicker fabric keeps you warmer than a legging without feeling too heavy for spring.
The wide leg and the silhouette.
There’s a lot of fabric. I like it, but it’s worth knowing. These are thinner than the City 5 Pocket pants with less structure. I tried the straight leg version too…not as flattering on me (pics below).
Colour notes.
I went navy practical and fills a gap in my wardrobe. The tan looked gorgeous but didn’t serve the same purpose. Both have a slight sheen, though it’s more noticeable on the tan. Navy is the safer pick if that’s a concern.
Bottom line.
Not a legging, not a stiff jean something in between that shows my figure without squeezing it. Checking back in at one year postpartum. For now? Tentatively worth it.
